Privacy
The short version: this site uses no cookies and no tracking for advertising. I count visits anonymously to see which pages are useful, and that's it.
Who is responsible
This website is run by Zimo Holdijk, a freelance product builder based in the Netherlands. Questions about your data? Email hello@zimoholdijk.com.
Visitor statistics
I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they look at, where they came from (for example LinkedIn or a search engine), which country they're in and what kind of device and browser they use. It also measures how quickly pages load.
It does not use cookies, does not store anything on your device and does not build a profile of you or follow you across other websites. The statistics are anonymous: I can't see who you are.
Because it has little or no impact on your privacy, no consent is needed for this under Dutch law (article 11.7a of the Telecommunicatiewet). My legal basis under the GDPR is my legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used so I can improve it.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. As with any website, your browser has to send your IP address to Cloudflare to load a page. Cloudflare uses it to deliver the site and protect it against abuse, and according to Cloudflare it is not stored for the visitor statistics. Cloudflare is a US company; transfers of personal data to the US are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Fonts and images are served from this site itself, so loading a page doesn't send your data to Google or other font services.
When you get in touch
If you email me, I use your name, email address and message only to reply and to follow up on what you asked. My email runs on Google Workspace. I keep emails for as long as needed for our conversation and any work that follows from it, and don't share them with anyone else.
The "Book a call" buttons open my Google Calendar booking page. What you enter there is handled by Google, under Google's privacy policy.
Links to other sites
This site links to my projects and profiles (such as LinkedIn and GitHub). Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You can ask me to see, correct or delete personal data I hold about you, or object to how I use it, by emailing hello@zimoholdijk.com. The visitor statistics are anonymous, so I can't link them to you. If you're not happy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
